Chapter 1 · 1.3
Euro-Office or the old Nextcloud Office: what changes for you?
Until the switch, you used WebOké Nextcloud with an Office Suite licence to work with the online office suite Collabora. In Nextcloud, this was called Nextcloud Office. WebOké is switching to Euro-Office. Confusingly, the new program for your computer is also called Nextcloud Office, but that's actually Euro-Office (see Euro-Office as a program on your computer: what is it and when do you use it?). Below, you can read what changes for you, and most importantly, what stays the same.
What stays the same
- Your files stay exactly where they are, in your own Nextcloud.
- You still open a document by clicking on it.
- You still create a new document via the New button.
- Sharing and collaborating works just like you're used to.

What's better
- Word, Excel and PowerPoint files look better. Euro-Office works directly with the Microsoft formats (docx, xlsx, pptx), so formatting, tables and fonts stay closer to the original.
- A familiar toolbar. The Home, Insert, Layout and View tabs look a lot like what you know from Word and Excel.
- More pdf features. You can fill in pdf forms, create them yourself, and edit pdfs.
- Also as a program on your computer. Euro-Office is also available for Windows, Mac and Linux.
When do I switch?
At the same time as the switch, your Nextcloud moves to version 35. The administrator of your Nextcloud can start the switch themselves with a single button in My WebOké, under My Products. If you don't do anything, we'll arrange it for you by 1 December 2026 at the latest. Your files and settings will remain unchanged. You can read exactly how this works in The switch to Euro-Office and in our blog about the switch.
