Download as docx, xlsx, pptx, odt or pdf

Want to email a file to someone, put it on a USB stick or send it as a PDF? Then download it in the format you need.
Step 1: open the File menu
Click the File tab at the top left (1). The menu with all file options opens.
Step 2: choose Download as
Click Download as and click the format you want, for example DOCX (1). For a text document, you can choose from, amongst others:
- DOCX: for Microsoft Word.
- PDF and PDF/A: for sending or archiving. A PDF looks the same everywhere.
- ODT: for LibreOffice and other OpenDocument programmes.
- DOTX and OTT: as a template.
- MD, RTF, TXT, HTML, EPUB, FB2: for other applications.
- JPG and PNG: as an image.
The file ends up in your computer's downloads folder. The original in Nextcloud remains unchanged.
In a spreadsheet or presentation, it works exactly the same way. For a spreadsheet, you might choose XLSX, ODS, CSV or PDF (see Importing and exporting CSV files), or PPTX, ODP or PDF for a presentation (see Saving a presentation as PDF or PPTX).
Prefer to keep it in Nextcloud?
Then choose Save copy as instead of Download as. The copy, for example as a PDF, will then be saved in your Nextcloud.
