**Fixed / dedicated IP address

With shared hosting, you share an IP address with the other websites on the same server.

If you like, you can request your own IP address for your hosting package. Your own IP address can help you get a higher ranking on Google.

You can order your own IP address when ordering a new hosting package (change the hosting package in the basket) or for an existing hosting package by choosing My products in the client area and then Properties. At the bottom of the screen you will find a button to order the IP address.

Resellers: For a reseller account, the IP address is added to the list of available IP addresses and the reseller can choose which user to assign it to.

Adult content: If you offer adult content via your website, you must order your own IP address for your hosting package.

When we assign the IP address to your hosting account (maximum 1 IP address per hosting package), this means the DNS is changed. In practice, this means that if you have just visited your site, you will still end up at the old IP address for a while (1 to 4 hours at most). The same applies to visitors who were just on your site. This has to do with DNS caching. If you or a visitor have not visited the site recently, they will go straight to the correct new IP address.
You can prevent this by setting the TTL in the DNS to, for example, 60 instead of 14400, 24 hours in advance. When the IP address changes, the 4 hours mentioned above will then be no more than 60 seconds.
