Transferring a domain to us

A transfer of a .be domain can only be started if you have the so-called authorisation code (also called the EPP code). We request this code automatically as soon as you order the domain name with us. DNS BE will send this code to the email address it has on file. You can check which email address that is at www.dns.be. If you no longer have this email address or can no longer access it, ask your current registrar/provider to change it to an email address that does exist.

If you have not received the transfer code, or if you have changed your email address, you can have DNS BE send the transfer code again via our client menu, my transfer codes.

1. Look up the domain name on our website and choose to transfer it; the domain is then added to the cart. You can search by entering the domain name at the top right of our homepage, also if you want to transfer it.
2. Then choose the hosting package for the domain name. You can choose it on our homepage, or click properties in the cart and choose the right hosting package there.
   1. While ordering, you will be asked to enter the auth code/token/EPP code. This code was discussed at the beginning of this article. If you do not know the code yet while ordering, that is no problem. Simply complete the order and afterwards enter the code in the client menu, my products, transfer centre and start the transfer yourself there.
3. After ordering you will receive a confirmation from us. If you entered the code while ordering, the transfer is also carried out and completed immediately.
4. PLEASE NOTE! The transfer has only really been carried out once you have received an email from us confirming it! So keep a close eye on this.

Notes

• The transfer is carried out and completed immediately after the code has been entered.
• Your domain name may be in quarantine at your current provider. Search our FAQ for the word quarantine for more information about this.
• After the transfer it can take up to 24 hours before the transfer becomes noticeable. Usually this happens within a few hours.
• No permission from your current provider is needed, but you should inform them of the transfer. That can speed things up.
• We do not charge any extra costs for the transfer.

Transferring a domain away from us

If you want to transfer a .be domain registered with us to another provider, you can request the code in the client menu, my domain info (tokens).
